Wildewood Guesthouse

When to do things at Wildewood

September/October: Glorious Fall Colours & Studio Tours
Labour Day Weekend the 18th annual Hastings Highlands Loggers Games for more info visit www.maynooth.on.ca.

November-March: Cross-country skiing on groomed trails in Algonquin Park, tobogganing down our hill, sitting in front of a warming fire, soaking in a hydro-massage tub for two, sleeping in...

Christmas/New Year's Eve: We're open through the holidays and book up well in advance for that holiday week.

Bird's eat right out of your hand! February: February 2, Brigit's Eve 4, dinner and dance. And of course Valentine's Day. Very romantic.

March Break: Get out of town and unwind! And on March 1st, it's a Cabin Fever party at the Arlington Hotel.

April & May: Spring and no bugs to bother with!
Be sure to check out the Maynooth Celtic Festival on May 3rd, for more info visit www.maynooth.on.ca

June: is black fly season but it's lovely on our screened in porch where you can pass the time watching the hummingbirds and chipmunks at the feeders.

July & August: Summertime and the living gets easy. Swim at Papineau Lake or Lake St. Peter; canoe on Bark Lake, go for day hikes in Algonquin Park, antique hunt in the small communities in the area; or do nothing at all but relax.

Sunday of the August long weekend, Pride returns for the start of our 17th year in 2008. Campsites available.

Pride celebrations at Wildewood begin with a parade round the pond led by a bagpipe player (good exercise and a chance to strut your stuff), followed by a potluck buffet dinner (bring a dish that doesn't require refrigeration or cooking), a fireworks display at 10 p.m. (please bring a firework or two), a bonfire if we're allowed, with live musicians under a starlit sky.

It's BYOB, of course and we also ask that you bring a non-perishable food item or three for the local Food Bank.

Overnight camping sites are available for one night only, Sunday, August 3rd, and include a hearty breakfast Monday morning for $20.00 per person.

For the second year in a row, OPSEU (Ontario Public Service Employees Union) is sponsoring our outhouse rental. Judy and Gina will have an information tent on site.

In 2007 there were 100 persons in attendance.
